"We spent a very enjoyable 10 days at Wheelwrights, in the heart of the charming village of Steeple Bumpstead. The accommodation was comfortable and very clean, breakfasts delicious, and Gill and John were most gracious hosts. We would thoroughly recommend staying at their B&B and plan to visit again."

Fantastic bed and breakfast!

We stayed at Wheelwrights as we were visiting family in the village. We received a very warm welcome from Gill and John and our room was fantastic! We had excellent ensuite facilities and the bedroom was just what we wanted. The breakfast cooked by Gill on the Sunday morning was superb. We will use Wheelwrights again in the future that's for sure. (Tripadvisor)

A wonderful place to stay. Highly recommended.

We had the pleasure of staying at Wheelwrightsin mid-July whilst we attended the annual Flying Legends airshow at Duxford. The minute we stepped through the door we felt truly at home. Gill and John were the best hosts anyone could wish for. The breakfasts each morning were superb (thank you very much Gill!) We will most certainly be returning next year. Wheelwrights is an absolute must for anyone considering staying in the area. (Tripadvisor)

To the rescue!

We stayed at Wheelwrights after being let down by The White Horse Inn. Gill was very gracious and booked a cab etc so we were not late for the wedding! The breakfast was fantastic, all fresh produce and very well cooked. Comfy beds, spotlessly clean and quiet! Would recommend the place very highly! (Tripadvisor)

A comfortable stay in a quiet village.

Although not large, our room was comfortable, tastefully decorated and very clean. Gill was very friendly and helpful and took the trouble to find us somewhere to eat on a busy Saturday evening. Breakfast was excellent and served in a lovely dining room overlooking the garden........We would recommend. (Tripadvisor)

Friendly and Inviting

Gill was very friendly and inviting. The rooms were very clean and spacious enough. Gill was very helpful in suggesting activities and attractions within several miles of area and there was plenty of information in the rooms. The breakfast was very nice and cooked to perfection with local produce. Would I return? Too right I would! Would I recommend? Too right I would!  (Tripadvisor)

Breakfast was great!

Stayed as a touring cyclist and they had storage for my bike............

Breakfast was great and adequate for a cyclist. it is on the main road through so is easy to find, with some nice pubs nearby for an evening meal. I walked 3 minutes to get to the pub. Added bonus for cyclists is that the roads around are lovely. if I  was staying in this area again, I would stay here. (Tripadvisor)

Great B and B!

We spent one night at Wheelwrights, but wished we could've stayed longer. Our room had everything we needed - a lovely spacious ensuite and especially liked the fresh milk in a flask rather than the awful UHT portions. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the room very quiet. We enjoyed a very relaxed breakfast overlooking the garden. There were yogurts, cereals and lovely fresh blueberries and raspberries to start followed by a beautifully cooked breakfast and finished off with plenty of toast, tea and coffee. Gill made us feel very welcome. Would definitely return in the future.

Wish we could have stayed longer!

We had a lovely time and were only sorry we could not have stayed longer. The full English was second to none - outstanding! Gill was the perfect host and could not have been more helpful. We would certainly recommend Wheelwrights.

A lovely stay in a lovely B and B!

My girlfriend and I have just returned from a lovely stay with Gill and John at Wheelwrights in Steeple Bumpstead whilst visiting friends in the nearby area and making day trips to some local sights including Cambridge, Lavenham and East Bergholt. We were provided with such an accommodating stay that it made the trip all the better.

Our room was comfortable and very clean with an ensuite bathroom and fresh towels provided. Flasked fresh milk and bottled water was also in the room and swapped every day along with decent coffee and tea supplies which was a nice touch when compared with other places where we have stayed. We had access to WiFi together with a very lovely welcome back collated by our hosts which was full of ideas for days out. There is a beautiful garden to relax in too.Breakfast was full of options from fresh fruit, yoghurt and cereals to warm pastries or a full cooked breakfast which you can choose and select in advance at various times in the morning - the bacon and sausage are locally sourced and very tasty.

We would definitely recommend Wheelwrights and would love to stay again! Thanks again for such a comfortable and friendly stay - we really did enjoy ourselves!

Thanks again!

An excellent B and B in the heart of the village - five minutes walk from the church and the nearest pub with food.

We were attending a wedding and Wheelwrights proved to be the perfect overnight base.A pretty and comfortable bedroom and spotlessly clean bathroom. Nice touches of fresh coffee and milk facilities in our room.

Gill makes a delicious cooked breakfast with local produce in the morning, which is eaten in a light dining room overlooking the garden. if you stay longer, there is a file of interesting places to visit within easy reach. It is very good value and we would be happy to stay again if the occasion arose.
